As I have promised yesterday, today I am posting a step by step origami tutorial on how to fold a simple origami dragon

Simple Origami Dragon
You can fold this simple dragon using an ordinary paper, which is good, since most probably if you are reading this tutorial you don’t yet have origami paper, which is in fact much better to work with then any regular paper you can find around you, because it is stronger and much thinner. So pick up something and make it square if it isn’t already, to start folding. Don’t pick anything smaller than A4 paper though, because it will get much harder to fold it correctly.
We will begin with folding a basic origami starting pattern known as a Bird Base. Now, if you don’t know how to fold it yet, you can find a step by step origami tutorial showing how to do so in the previous post – Folding a Bird Base. Take your time to fold the bird base correctly, and after you’ve finished, return here to continue.
The bird base.
Start folding like so.
Symmetry.
The other side.
Drag the right corner to the left and crease.
Repeat the same folds you started with.
Fold this side’s parts upwards like so.
And the other’s side downwards.
Crease it and lay on its side.
Take the left corner to the right.
Repeat for the second side.
Fold the right corner upwards.
Repeat the process for the second side.
Take the left ‘spike’ down a bit.
View from the bottom of the model, shows how to do it.
Reverse fold the future neck.
Reverse fold it again to form the head.
Reverse fold it yet again to form head which looks more like a dragon head.
Curve-fold the tail to add an extra detail.
Top view of the model.
Now curl the wings with your fingers to finish the Origami Dragon!
You have finished your origami dragon! Congratulations! You deserve a cookie ![]()
If you have a camera, you can take a pic of your origami dragon and post it as a comment
